Overview

True to Moroccan tradition, Riad ZEN HOUSE is an earthly paradise where the elements harmonize with nature:  water dripping from fountains, fire blazing in  fireplaces, rich red earth in beautiful gardens, a roof-top patio connecting gentle desert winds and moon-lit nights to their reflection in the peaceful courtyard below.

A magnificent olive tree, symbol of peace, protects this utterly ZEN HOUSE.

Days are peaceful – soft music, bird songs, exotic incense and spices, sunbathing and farniente.

Evenings soothe both mind and body – floating candles, beguiling music, lanterns swaying to the rhythm of the warm desert breeze, casting soft mosaic light formations on sleek tadelekt walls, the bewitching smells of a gastronomic meal ready to be served.

A fascinating mixture of the Orient and of Africa.

Riad ZEN HOUSE is easy to find as it is located just inside of the walls of the old city of Marrakech, the Medina.  In a calm residential street, Riad ZEN HOUSE is only 10 minutes from the famous Majorelle Gardens and 15 minutes from the Jema el Fna Square, known for its storytellers, Gnaoua musicians, water bearers, snake charmers and monkey trainers.

ZEN HOUSE is also located close to numerous other tourist attractions such as the Bahia Palace, the Marrakech Museum, the Médersa Ben Youssef (or Coranic School) and  the Saadian Tombs, to name a few.

Finally, it is located 10 minutes from the new part of the city, called Guéliz, with its wide avenues, restaurants, bars, discotheques, casinos, golf courses and other forms of amusement.

Riad Zen House is a beautifully furnished 3 story house in the old part of Marrakech. The bedrooms are comfortable with private baths. The food was excellent. Carla and Milhoud are wonderful hosts. They gave us many suggestions and helped us make arrangements. They both went out of their way to provide for their guests.

Quiet hidden gem in the medina. Three story house with lovely sun deck. Great breakfasts and beautifully decorated rooms. Owner Carla made the experience extra special with her attention to details and service.

We had a fantastic time in Marrakech and it was mainly because Carla and the Zen House's staff went beyond the call of duty to make us feel comfortable. It started before we even landed with Carla providing tips and advice on what to bring and what to do once there. It continued with the warmth of the welcome and all the discoveries we were able to make in the souk and during our trip to the desert. Carla fell in love with Morocco and makes it contagious. Saida's cooking helped us discover this country with our taste buds through her flavourful and sophisticated cuisine. But the highlight of the trip was the spontaneity and sincerity of the relationships we were built at the Zen House. We are longing to go back and enjoy all Morocco has to offer.

Carla, Milhoud, Mohamed and Saida went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, welcome and they worked as a team to make us fall in love with Marrakech. The food was optional but just awesome. The house is furnished with tates and full of Morrocan furniture. Mohammed the driver was very professional, knowledgeable, has great work ethics and helped us fall in love with Morroco. Carla has incredible hospitality skills and her kindness will make you want to come back.

The Zen House was great. It's inside the Medina, which gives it more character and place. You can walk to the Square in about 20 minutes, or you can easily (and cheaply) grab a taxi, as the Grand Taxi depot is very close. Thomas is your host. He does an excellent job. He anticipates your needs, and can make any arrangements you need. A delicious breakfast of local foods is included, and is very nice. I definitely recommend this stay.

Découvrir le Maroc en commençant par votre riad a été très agréable. Très joli endroit, qui nous a bien reposé avant et après un séjour dans le désert.

You are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. I really appreciate all the extra effort you made to make the trip great, especially the trip to the Berber village in the mountains (and my mule trip down), the visit to the Ham'am and dinner "Chez Ali". The breakfasts were great and especially meeting so many great people who became good friends instantly.

Thank you so much for a great experience, great place to sleep, eat and meet people(and drink beer). You have made a beautiful island of peace in a hectic (but wonderful) city. Thank you very much for the trip to the mountains.
