De retour de Marrakech, je vous envoie un mail pour vous remercier et vous dire de nouveau combien nous apprécions votre riad. Ce petit havre de paix en plein coeur de la vie trépidante marrakchi est une chance pour le voyageur qui y séjourne. Et nos quelques jours de passage ont été, comme d'habitude, des moments extrèmement agréables. Comme toujours, toute votre équipe a été aux petits soins pour nous. Mais je voudrais une fois de plus noter le professionnalisme, la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Karim. Répondant à  chacune de nos demandes, les précédant parfois, il nous a évité des inquiétudes en nous accompagnant pour le départ vers le sud, il a réglé efficacement notre retour en pleine nuit, il a “sacrifi锝 sa soirée match de foot pour nous accompagner au restaurant, il nous a mis à  disposition l'ordinateur pour quelques démarches, et il a pris du temps encore et toujours pour des moments à  nous faire découvrir sa culture”¦ Lors de notre périple dans le sud, nous avons rencontré des gérants d'établissements très sympas, mais jamais aussi généreux que Karim. Je pense que c'est une chance pour les touristes et un atout pour votre riad. Bien sà»r, au fil de mes visites, Karim est devenu un ami, mais je l'ai vu agir avec les autres clients et il ne fait aucune différence, il reste aussi disponible pour tous. Par exemple, à  notre départ, il a abandonné sa sieste et nous a quitté plus vite que prévu pour aller dépanner des clients qui avaient un problème avec une hospitalisation”¦ Il est ainsi et avec tous. Pour ma part, je reviendrai dès que possible au Dar Nimbus et je le conseille à  tous ceux qui viennent à  Marrakech, y compris sur les forums de voyageurs. Mon amie et son mari viennent séjourner chez vous prochainement. Ce voyage est le cadeau que nous lui avons offert pour ses 40 ans. C'est son premier voyage à  l'étranger”¦ J'ai prévenu Karim, je sais qu'il fera en sorte que tout soit parfait, je n'ai aucun doute. Dans l'attente du plaisir d'un prochain séjour au Dar Nimbus ou au Dar Latifa (que je ne connais pas).

This is an email to let you know that our stay in Marrakesh was wonderful, not only because of the city itself but because of the beautiful riad you have created, the fantastic and welcoming people who work for you and the wonderful neighbourhood. Karim took really great care of us, and was willing at every moment to arrange things for the group, we ended up playing soccer with the young men of the neighbourhood, went to the hamam, hung out in the really well decorated spaces of the riad. The cook, was a very sweet lady as well who was putting much effort to make our dinners the best she could; the tables were set beautifully with candles, and the food was delicious and full of love. I will definitely be back to your home next time I come to morocco, I feel that we were very lucky to have fallen upon such a great riad. Thank you very much for everything.

We stayed at the Dar Nimbus and its sister Riad in Essaouira, the Dar Latifa, for 7 nights in Feb. 2009. We were very pleased overall with the Dar Nimbus, the bedrooms and commons areas were modest but very tastefully decorated, giving it a highly authentic Moroccan feel. There are many common balconies, terraces and rooms to sit and relax, making it easy to enjoy the atmosphere privately or chat with other guests. Lots of books and magazines in multiple languages were also put at guest's disposal.

Best of all was the riad staff, who were exceptionally warm and accommodating - they did everything to make us feel at home and attend to our needs and requirements. For example, when we noted that our kids were a bit disappointed that the plunge pool was empty (it had been drained for the colder season but the days were getting warmer upon our arrival), Karim the manager immediately called to have it filled and our kids were in it that afternoon. Also, when I mentioned it was our daughter's 10th birthday the following day Karim brought her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and everyone made her feel very special.

Kébira's cooking is excellent - we loved the breakfasts, mint teas and also had a fabulous dinner at the Dar Nimbus one night. We would highly recommend that you have at least one dinner at the riad.

The only downside of the riad is its location - as others have mentioned it is a bit hard to find (when you first arrive be sure to be met at the airport by a taxi organized by the hotel, then met where the taxi drops you off by the hotel porter who guides you through the pedestrian streets - we did this and it made for a hassle-free arrival). While it is not the most savoury part of town we did however find it to be safe, even after dark. If you are up for a bit of an adventure and you like a more intimate setting this riad offers an authentic Moroccan experience for excellent value. Anyways, if you are not up for adventure I would not recommend that you go to Marrakech in the first place.

As for Essaouira, this beautiful little fishing town is worth the trip for a few days if you have the time (about 3 hours drive from Marrakech). Nice beach, much smaller but cleaner and more relaxed than Marrakech. The Dar Latifa is well-located, right off the main pedestrian street. Nice but smaller - not quite the same atmosphere as the Dar Nimbus.
