Dar Daif

9.2
Zineb and Jean-Pierre chose de settle in Ouarzazate 15 years ago, at the crossroads of the South Valleys of the Atlas and the Sahara. They have built and restored Dar Daif where they regularly invited their friends and people coming for treks, to drink tea and eat couscous. Their friends suggested they create one or two rooms to accommodate them rather than go to the hotel. Year after year their home with few rooms became a guest house, a real Caravanserai. 3 Km from Ouarzazate, the Kasbah recreates the atmosphere of the desert caravanserai. Zineb and Jean-Pierre Datcharry fascinated by desert and mountains for more than 20 years were able to make this cozy place, one of the most essential spots in the South. Since 2008, we are labeled by the Green Key program, established and certified by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the protection of the environment. The Selection Committee for Responsible Tourism held in Paris in October 13, 2009 offers Dar Daif the Trophy "Hosting Manager" small structures.

Ryad Mabrouka - FES

Ryad Mabrouka is one of the most unique riads in Fes due to its original architecture and its large bay-window opening facing its peaceful garden. This view enhances the riad with light and provides the guest with a sensational and unique view of the ancient Fez medina.  Pierre-Marie and Caroline invite you to come and discover this unique riad with its rich hand-crafted decorative work, fabricated by the craftsmen who have made Fez famous throughout the centuries. Enjoy the panoramic view from the terrace and dining room or rest in the riad's garden oasis filled with beautiful flowers and trees (including bougainvillea, hibiscus, orange trees and roses). The atmosphere of this riad is a subtle mixture of the ancient Moroccan traditions derived from the imprint of the family owners, the spirit and feel of Fez itself, and a passion for the better things in life.   An attentive Moroccan staff will cater to your every need as they anxiously wait for a chance to demonstate the rich depth and kindness of Moroccan hospitality.  Ryad Mabrouka is ideally located with easy access to taxis and parking.  It is centrally located in a quiet place, only 3mn by foot from Talaa Kebira which is the main street of the medina of Fes and the one that is traveled most by tourists becuase of the shopping and cultural opportunities it presents.

Traditional Riad

What do you mean "Traditional Riad"? I thought all riads were traditional homes.

While it is true that the vast majority of the riads, dars, villas and kasbahs of Morocco have very old roots, in recent years, for various reasons, the majority of  riads have been significanlty renovated, redesigned and restyled. Some have been redesigned in a modern decor, others very traditionally and others in a combination of both the modern and traditonal style.

The riads in this list have self-described themselves as having both architecture and decor of traditonal Moroccan style. In these riads you might see the famous zellij tile, ceilings carved with intricate designs, Moroccan style rugs and metal lanterns.
